Color:  Chadron Chert is mottled and ranges from tan or yellowish brown to red or gray.  Vugs filled with chalcedony or drusy quartz may be present.

Chadron Chert is associated with the Chadron Formation of South Dakota.  Primary outcroppings occur in the Big Badlands of South Dakota.
