Color:  Chadron Chert is mottled and ranges from tan or yellowish brown to red or gray.  Vugs filled with chalcedony or drusy quartz may be present.

Luster: Waxy to vitreous

Silica Fabrics / Fossils: Commonly present, but fossils may be replaced by drusy quartz.
